A bit of background

Hi. I’m Hannah. I’m a copywriter, which basically means I write adverts for a living. I work in London, but home is my flat in Birmingham, overlooking the canals with my partner, and two house bunnies – Gus and Marge.

This means travelling to and fro most days. But my commute gives me lots of time to do what I do best: nap and read. That’s why I started Gobbledybook: to chronicle my journey through my ever-growing, ever-groaning bookcase. (Probably never the naps.)

Before I got into copywriting, I studied English literature at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. I took as many creative writing modules as I could while I was there – writing to explore exercises such a different muscle to the one I use for the concise, minimal writing of advertising, and I love it.

I’m an eclectic reader. There’s no genre I won’t touch, so expect a mix of everything from fantasy to feminism; classics to chick-lit.

I love recommending books to people and talking about them. So if you’ve read something I’ve written about and fancy a chinwag, or if you’d like me to review something of yours – please feel free to leave a comment or get in touch.
